Lives,..Lightening Us

In the sunny farmlands
they are growing food for us.....
But their stomachs had never been full

In the dark corners of the metro,
they are weaving cotton for us...
But they have only bare skin to cover

Between the noises of the factory,
they are making toys for our children....
But their children had never touched one

Inside the suffocating tunnel,
they are mining gold for our women...
But their women wear broken glass bangles

Covered totally in tar,
they are digging coal for lighting our lives...
But their lives are covered with dark shadows....
