Today @ Ramlila Maidan.............

There was tight security over there...people were being queued up by policemen...there were peddlers selling national flags , Gandhi thoppees etc... Sometimes police fled them with their raised sticks. The carry bags and luggage were scanned and ladies and gents were frisked....

For a moment I thought I am entering to IGI Airport Terminal........
But instead of the cool Air conditioned ergonomically designed landscapes of IGI, what welcomed me is a ground which is the cause of several heated discussions in the recent indian polity.....It was RAMLILA MAIDAN....
Shamiyana was erected in half of the ground and in the other half MCD men were doing their levelling job so rigourously.....

There were people from all classes....a miniature of the diversified India was over there.......School Children...Sanyasis...Pentioners...College goers....Many of them wore the T-Shirts..." MEM ANNA HOOM" under the banner of India Against Corruption....

Chants were in the air....
" Anna Tum Aage Chalo....Hum Tumhare Sath He......."
" Mem bhi Anna...Tu bhi Anna... Ab to Sare desh he Anna...."

There were frequent roars of "Vandematheram"  and "Inquilab Zindabad...".....Me also shouted loudly sometimes and sometimes silently............

I merged in the crowd....I lost myself...I shouted when the crowd shouted and roared when they roared...

I dont know whether the struggle reaches its meaning full end...Seeing the change it seeks, I feel it needs to be much much larger....It may be hard to bring changes in a constitution governing more than 1 billion through some ten thousand people....But I can see people entering in large numbers into the ground...I have to be optimistic...

And I was happy.....And I was selfish for my happiness......At last I have came across a cause which made some lot of the notorious middle class to come out of their personal comfort zones......

I end this with what Voltaire said.... " I do not agree with what you have to say, but I'll defend to the death your right to say it...."

Let Anna Say what he has to...And Let the change happen...............
